A New Threat

++Rebels must abandon base on Yavin 4++

Jyn Odan reports from the rebel base on Tatooine:

The damaged Corellian Transporter parks in the hangar, the three-man crew is being treated in the medical ward. The rescue mission to Yavin 4 has failed.

„The mission has been a forlorn hope right from the start“, says Gaarkhan (according to the interpreter droid). The Wookiee and his two comrades barely managed to save themselves before being outnumbered and overrun by imperial troops, including an AT-ST. The plan had been to salvage a wrecked freighter but it was lost to the enemy. Its crew had not survived the crash apparently.

Mission almost completely failed

„We should at least have managed to destroy the technical supplies in the nearby imperial outpost“, Gideon Argus states. The Commander is experienced in the battle against the oppressor. „But we were too much under pressure and could only focus on our own survival. Even that was on a lightsaber’s edge. These bloody probe droids were practically everywhere.“

Fenn Signis, the third rebel of the mission, is being treated by a medic droid. Just like his comrades he had been grimly determined to hold the line, even if that meant self-abandonement.

Has the alliance been defeated?

„To be honest, I really thought it was my final hour“, Gaarkhan admits (according to the interpreter-droid), “when I was surrounded by Royal Guards, a couple of droids and a Nexu. And then a shadow fell on me. They had an AT-ST! But the alliance is not defeated and never will be. Only when the last rebel drops out of his spaceship the Empire wins. But that’s not gonna happen because freedom and liberty are our highest goods and worth fighting for.“ The tall Wookiee has treated his fur-burns only superficially and already works hard on repairing the YT-1300.

Empire has no real power

At least that’s what Luke Skywalker says who only recently has been saved by this small band of rebels. They had accompanied the Jedi Knight on a recruiting tour and were ambushed by imperial soldiers. The fighting skills of the rebels against a supremacy of droid units have been recognized on both sides. Since then a quite substantial bounty is on their heads but they don’t seem to care overly much.

„It takes more than a couple of Trandoshan hunters to get rid of me. As long as I can fight, this Darth Vader has not won. I’m just sayin’“, Fenn Signis growls and nods encouragingly towards his comrades. The price on his head might have achieved quite the opposite of what General Weiss had in mind.

Wisdom of the veterans

„As soon as the Wookiee managed to bolt up the Corellian Transporter we’ll be on our way“, Commander Argus explains. The white-bearded man is a veteran of the Galactic Wars and knows all too well how quickly things can change. „Tomorrow, in a galaxy far away, the game starts anew. And by the way, I really detest these stormtroopers.“
„UURHHHGGGAARGHH“, the Wookiee growls and rightly so. May the force be with them.
